Chocolate chip cookies

If anything, I had to start this blog with the classic american cookie, the one the cookie monster used to eat before they turned him into a veggie eater. They are easy to make and even easier to enjoy. The most important tip, not only for this cookies but in general, is slight underbaking. I used to overcook my cookies and they turned out hard and dry. Then I learnt that once the bottom of the cookie starts to brown, cookies are ready. No waiting for tops being brown and dry. Less is more in cookie baking time.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Note: you can use only brown sugar and they taste as well if not better

Preheat oven to 375 F

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla extract. In another bowl combine the dry ingredients, that is flour, salt and baking powder. Add the dry mix to the butter mix slowly while mixing. Stir in the chocolate chips. Bake 9 to 11 min until the bottom of the cookie is slightly brown.

Enjoy!
